Walking With God 👣

Updated: Jun 28
The Lord desires to walk with you as He did with Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. This place was a holy place God intended for us to cultivate. Choosing to believe in Jesus secures your spot in heaven as His death covers the debt of your own sins. When you choose to believe in Jesus, His own righteousness makes you holy - no matter how unholy or unperfect you are - in the sight of God, YOU ARE HOLY. With this in mind, you have an invitation to journey on with God in this life or as I like to call it, in the Garden of Eden. You're welcomed there because you are now holy! Thank you, Jesus!
God doesn't want you to simply enter the Garden though... He's calling you to an intimate relationship with Himself as Adam and Eve had with Him before sin entered the picture.
And this is eternal life, that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent. John 17:3
He wants to take you down the river of His Kingdom. He wants to reveal his mysteries and secrets of His salvation to you.
He replied, "You are permitted to understand the secrets of the kingdom of heaven, but others are not. To those who listen to my teaching, more understanding will be given, and they will have an abundance of knowledge. But for those who are not listening, even what little understanding they have will be taken away from them." Matthew 13:10-12
So what does this look like?
I want to say there's almost levels to this. Each step you take with Jesus down the river, we must let the parts of ourselves God is asking of us go. Not the glorified parts of you He originally created within you but the sinful parts. There're levels to this. Jesus says that those who want to follow me must deny themselves.
Here's a verse for clarification:
Then Jesus told his disciples, "If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it." Matthew 16:24-25
It won't be an easy thing! And don't get me wrong entering the Garden and being with the Lord is beautiful but like I said there are levels to this! He wants to tell you more things! Things that will transform you, strengthen you, AMAZE you! He wants you in awe of Him and I promise He has his way of doing that. So, easy? No. Worth it?
.... Yes ...
Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few. Matthew 7:13-14
Where do you begin?
You can start by praying to the Lord to open up your eyes. Ask for Him to take you deeper down the river. Ask him what things need to be released by you.?What things do you need to put to death? Ask Him how you can serve Him? (you may just find all he wants is a friend 😉) Alot of the times its our worry about this world…. you know, what stuff we have, what we don't, what our plans are or what they aren't...
Here's an encouraging verse you can focus on that will keep you following Jesus down that river.
But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. Therefore, do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble. Matthew 6:33-34
Make knowing Him and serving Him your primary focus everyday. And watch Him take care of everything else you need!
Remember He's not asking for perfection. There's levels member? Above all else, He just wants to spend time with you in that garden. He just wants a friend. But don't forget there's some secrets and mysteries out there only He can show you as you go deeper down that river ... He loves you. He wants to walk with you in WONDER. And He can't wait for you to give Him the time of day!
God bless you ♥️
